Beginning in 2007 MY the crankshaft position sensor target / tone wheel tooth position learn for the engine misfire detection is a "stored value" and must be relearned: If engine controller is swapped, engine/crank/short block is replaced without engine controller, or the crank sensor is removed for inspection / diagnostics, tightened, or replaced. Perform an (ECU / PCM) engine controller module RESET using the STAR SCAN service tool. Some PCMs will not reset with a battery disconnect. After resetting perform three closed throttle coast downs from 70 mph to 40 mph. This procedure will force the PCM to perform a crank position relearn. Failure to perform the above could result in misfire detection. ______________________________________ Contact Us at CAGRIS@Chrysler.com for feedback related ONLY to this GPOP Tech Tip.
